  • “Why join another community, especially when I have to pay for it?!”

    Free communities are a dime-a-dozen online. However, they are mostly forums for egos, aggressive behaviour and hard-selling. Others are extremely expensive and often the owner is absent. Instead, for an extremely low monthly fee, Simon will be available to you in The Brainy Lounge almost every day and you’ll get individual attention.

  • “I’m busy, do I need to participate all the time?”

    That’s totally up to you. The more you participate, the more you’ll learn. However, it’s equally fine to log in and follow comments and conversations without participating. There’s no pressure either way.

  • “I’ve had a bad experience of aggressive people on communities before.”

    We operate a ‘two strikes and you’re out’ rule when it comes to aggressive behaviour (we simply won’t wait for the third strike). There is no room for nastiness, only healthy debate. We monitor conversations and respond to any complaints speedily, and aren’t shy of clamping down on any behaviours that are counter-productive to a supportive community.

How much does it cost?

Before we get to the price, remember that The Brainy Lounge community is not about squeezing every last penny out of its members.

Not everyone wants to pay the full annual membership fee upfront. So you can spread the cost out every month as a direct debit if you wish, as long as we have already spoken to you once on the phone (or face-to-face chat online) or in person.

What happens before you sign up?

If we’re new to each other and haven’t met in person, you’ll go on a 10-day waiting list as we want to make sure that you are happy to join and aren’t rushing into anything. We love members who are thrilled to join and want to support people like themselves.

What’s more, when you sign up, your price is fixed for life.

Every year, we’ll increase the price by 10% for new members, but for as long as you are a member, you’ll remain on the price you joined at.

And if you want to leave, just let us know and leave.

No harm done. Just let us know. If you’re on a direct debit, just hit cancel. If you’re not on a direct debit then, your fee won’t renew next year.
