'Don't Quit' | A Christmas Message With Some Punch

2017 has brought some big highs and big lows
I swear that there's some unknown law that when one thing goes well, another thing must go less well. We've had a strong 2017 with the business, yet in our own lives, we've had some sad times. Ying-Yang, and all that.

At the beginning of the year, I found a 12-line poem that has stuck with me
It's been a source of inspiration and fervour throughout.  I'm not hugely into slushy or overly-emotive business inspiration stories and quotes  ("how unBritish, darling"), but this struck chord with me.

And I wanted to share it with you, so it may inspire you likewise in 2018.

It is written by 19th Century American Poet, John Greenleaf Whittier, called 'Don't Quit'.

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low and debts are high;
And you want to smile but you have to sigh.
When all is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit
Success is a failure turned inside out;
The silver tint on the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit."

So that is my punchy Christmas message for you: 'Don't Quit'.

Sarah and I wish you a fruitful 2018 full of success and happiness.
